Saturday July 8, 1961

Last night I left a kite flying in air above our house all night.. When I woke up in the morning it was still there.

I spent most of the morning reading one of James’s books. The name of the book was “Henry Esmond” and on one of its paged I discovered a Chinese stamp stuck to one of the pages. I tore out for myself. It was yellow colored and came off with part of the title of the book stuck to it’s back.

In the afternoon I went to Raymond’s and continued to paint the picture of the “house in the forest”. We completed it and then I took it home to show my parents.

James is planning to go to Hong Kong on Monday.

I sweat profusely because of the heat.

They are having rehearsal for the closing ceremony next door at St. Joseph
